Estemmenosuchus

They probably didn't hear well, and thus likely didn't do much along the lines of roars or grunts in their competitive posturing. They did, however, have mouths brimming with big pointy teeth, and gigantic bony flanges all over their heads. I'd expect this supported as much blood-flushed skin as possible to maximize the visual impact of their already-terrifying faces, scarred and calloused through shoving matches. This dude is fairly pissed off.

If you don't write and illustrate a dinosaur book, it will be a crying shame. Did you know that before I met you, I thought dinosaurs were kind of boring?

I have since been educated. I don't even know if this is technically a dinosaur or really something entirely different, because I am still ignorant, but I don't care because it is AWESOME.

Beautiful depiction of one of my favorite extinct animals.

Elise, like you suspected, this isn't actually a dinosaur. It lived several tens of millions of years before the first dinosaur, and is much more closely related to the ancestors of mammals than to dinosaurs.:)

Good grief Matt. You're way too stinking good. I wish you'd put together a dino book, or a early mammal book. It'd be beautiful and educational! Great work.

I have been looking at your art here and like all artists you have a unique and extremely good way of creating different things.
